Ryoichi Shimoji opened a bistro in his mid-20s and embarked on restaurant management. In his 30s he went abroad to study hotel management.
He gained practical experience in hotel management at foreign hotels such as IHG, Marriott, Starwood, Oakwood and Wyndham in Central America, the United States, Singapore, Dubai and China.
After returning to Japan, he was involved in business restructuring as the managing director of a restaurant company, and engaged in business improvement and corporate revitalization at a consulting firm specializing in the hospitality and lodging industry.
After working as general manager at a luxury condominium hotel in Niseko, Hokkaido, he launched FISS Corporation, Inc. in 2019 and became its representative director.
We strongly support the improvement and development of accommodation facilities from three perspectives.
The owner entrusts us with the operation of the hotel or inn and we dispatch a manager and other management executives to operate the hotel or inn. Sales, expenses, profits and losses incurred by the hotel/inn all belong to the owner, and we receive a contract fee based on the performance of the hotel/inn operation. We can also dispatch a management team to an operating company established by the owner to operate the company's management.
We perform general management of projects, mainly the launch of new accommodation facilities.
We participate in projects from scratch, including the selection of development sites, and provide solid support until operations are on track after the facility has opened. On behalf of owners who have no experience collaborating with foreign hotel operating companies, we support negotiations with such hotel operating companies. We also manage hotel operations as the owner's representative after opening.
In light of the situation of the target hotel or inn, we consider and implement the most appropriate management (operational) improvement measures, and commit to the results (figures) of performance improvement.
Based on our management and operational experience in the field, we conduct research, planning, and management improvement with an emphasis on execution. We support foreign companies entering the Japanese market with adequate accounting and tax services in accordance with domestic laws and regulations.
